Our Story
In 2009, the seeds of the Global Immigrant Platform were sown as founder Jason Troyer forged connections with immigrant groups in Akron, OH. Witnessing their needs firsthand, we began offering clothing, household items, literature distribution, financial aid, and advisory support.
Global Immigrant Platform exists to show the love of Christ to immigrant communities and individuals in need. We do this through clothing and household furnishings, donations, financial and advisory aid, literature distribution, and private education.
Immigrant Crisis
In 2021, the Taliban takeover threw Afghanistan into chaos, leading to economic collapse and mass job loss. The crisis escalated in 2022 with natural disasters – earthquakes and floods – destroying homes and crops. The harsh winter compounded woes, forcing families to choose between heating fuel and food, risking starvation or freezing.This has propelled us forward with a great desire to help the many who find Akron, OH to be their new home.
